SunSeeker ice cream
Challenge
How to make an ice cream feel like a trip to a tropical country?
Target audience
Age between 20-30 who love to travel to warm countries and enjoy adventurous desserts
Solution
My goal was to give a tropical travel experience in Brazil by using the tourist attractions of Rio de Janeiro.
We often see summer as playful, with people slowing down and children running around while playing. I wanted the design to have this playful look, and I thought a flat design could be a good fit. I had never used this concept before and was excited to explore it in this project.
I drew all the illustrations on the packaging. When I was finding the name for the ice cream, it was important to me that the name give a hint of what you could expect from this ice cream. This made me think that, when winter comes, we often miss the warm summer days and often travel back to the warmth, seeking the sun.
To introduce this playful look into the logo, I explored different ways to illustrate the name and ended up connecting both letter Ss. This gives the impression that the first letter S is seeking the other, like the name.
The sun is positioned on each package, inspired by different times of day, and the colors are inspired by the colors of the sunset. This makes it easier to distinguish the three ice creams from each other.
The flavors are typical flavors found in Brazil, and many tourists fall in love with them. Eating this ice cream should feel like dreaming away to one of Rio de Janeiro's beautiful beaches.
