Challenge
How to create a logo that communicates traditional food, but can live in modern Stavanger, Norway.
Target audience
Primary: focus on the age over 65, but wishing to bring in a younger age group over 16 years.
Secondary: likes and is interested in traditional Norwegian food.
Solution
Typography was used to bring in the traditional part of the restaurant, while the graphic elements were used to get the modernistic features into the logo. I used a pattern normally used in Norwegian knitting for graphic elements. This lets the logo look traditional, but at the same time, it is experienced as modern.
